After a government shutdown that lasted for 35 days, President Trump signed a fiscal year 2019 spending bill on February 15, 2019 that was passed by Congress.

Specifically regarding immigration, the spending bill provided funding for the Department of Homeland Security, the State Department, and other federal agencies through September 30, 2019. This spending bill also reauthorized programs that had expired, such as E-Verify, the Conrad 30 waiver program for foreign medical graduates working in underserved areas, the special immigrant non-minister religious worker program, and the entire EB-5 Regional Center program for foreign investors.
