Congress has passed another short-term spending measure to temporarily extend federal government funding through December 20, 2019 while FY 2020 budget negotiations continue. This means that many key immigration programs, which are under federal functions, will continue uninterrupted until December 20, 2019, pending President Trump’s signature. This is the second short-term spending measure passed since September.

The second short-term spending measure temporarily extends the following key immigration programs through December 20, 2019:

  • E-Verify
  • The EB-5 regional center permanent residence program for foreign investors
  • The Conrad 30 waiver program for foreign medical graduates working in areas of the U.S. that are underserved by physicians
  • The special immigrant non-minister religious worker program
