The United States Senate and House of Representatives passed a spending measure that temporarily ended the partial government shutdown through February 15, 2019.<\/p>\n
As mentioned in previous articles<\/a>, a handful of immigration functions were affected<\/a> by the partial government shutdown. With this temporary spending measure, functions that lapsed due to the shutdown, including the E-Verify system, are expected to resume shortly after the spending bill becomes law. However, several functions that may have accrued a backlog due to the shutdown may have delays as they try to get back up to speed.<\/p>\n If no agreement is reached by February 15, the federal government may experience another shutdown.<\/p>\n Our offices will provide continuing updates on this matter.
